My hourly rate is $150. And the shop minimum is $80. So a full day, 8 hour session, is between $1000-$1200. Not including tax or tip.

Yes, the age limit is 16 with BOTH parents written consent. This paperwork will need to be filled out IN PERSON at Black Hatchet Tattoos at your earliest convenience.

Minors need to bring BOTH their FULL LENGTH Birth certificate & STATE ISSUED PHOTO ID when filling out consent paperwork. SCHOOL IDS ARE NOT A VALID FORM OF PHOTO ID. Accepted ID’s include Non Divers ID, Learner’s permit, Driver’s License and Passport

BOTH PARENTS or legal guardians need to be present with their State photo ID’s. If one parent in not in the picture for any reason we will require legal documentation of sole custody. If legal guardians are not minor’s parents we will require legal documentation of awarded custody.

I would be happy to have a consult with you if you’d like. But they are more for larger piece and detailed pieces like sleeves and back pieces. Simple text or Pinterest tattoos can easily be discussed via email.

Consults are done in person at Black Hatchet Tattoos and do not require an appt. Please feel free to stop by the shop Tuesday-Friday 11-5pm.

You are more than welcome to use a numbing cream prior to getting tattooed. But there are pros and cons to using them.

My personal suggestions are Hush Anesthetic pr Dr. Numb. Both suggest applying a thick layer to the skin and wrapping the product in Saran Wrap 1 hour prior to getting tattooed.

You are more than welcome to bring ONE person to your appointment. Having a group of people accompany you to can be distracting to the artist and can draw your focus away from the tattoo.

I ask that you keep all children under the age of 16 at home for their safety. As much I love seeing adorable children they can be very disruptive and are a safety concern.

Any where from 2-3 weeks depending on how detailed the tattoo is.

Line work and simple tattoos can usually heal in 2 weeks flat. But larger more intricate tattoos do more damage to your skin, so they can take up to 3 weeks to heal.

I do touch ups for free for the first 3-4. Months from your original tattoo appointment.

All tattoos designs will not be shown to you until the day of your appt.

I draw all tattoos the night before or on the day of the appointment. I will of course show you the design prior to tattooing it on you. I do book all appointments allowing for time if you wish to make changes to the tattoo design after seeing my drawing.

Any major changes to your design may alter the length of your appointment and may result need to be rescheduled.

But I do recommend Stay True Piercing in Newington or Black Diamond Body Piercing in West Hartford. They are both piercing only shops that I personally have gotten piercings from. And I can’t speak more highly of them both they are super clean, professional and have quality jewelry.
